Process Methodology The assignment being completed in this report asks the author to complete a few different questions. The first is which process design strategy each firm uses and the second is why these two processes would be configured differently. It is then asked what process issues would be an issue in one factor and not another and then it is asked what would be the competitive priorities of each. Lastly, the configuration of each facility and how that makes them competitive is asked. Process Design Strategy The process design strategy of each facility is entirely different. Androsia manufactures fabrics at a low volume whereas Hershey makes chocolate-based products in bulk for mass consumption. The Androsia process is a lot more labor intensive and the amount of product produced per hour is a lot less but is much more custom-crafted whereas the Hershey output is massive and is designed, by nature, to be the same from run to run Different Processes The two processes are absolutely going to be different due to the entirely different nature of what is being made and how it is being made. With the Androsia factory, the focus is on quality and craftsmanship while the Hershey process is designed with output and volume in mind.
